Natalie Simons-Row Post-Detox Diary

Taking part in the detox program was one of the best decisions I have made.  After years of binge eating and yoyo dieting I was looking for something that would empower me by educating me about ‘real food’. And an education it certainly was.

I even baked guilt free Palio Anzacs!

I even baked guilt-free Palio Anzacs!

There are so many ‘fad’ diets and ‘expert opinions’  in the media, I was feeling lost and confused; the detox takes you back to basics and allows you to look at food in a new light. It also takes a unique approach to complete wellbeing; the changes in my diet lead to a change in my health.

The detox encourages you to think about food in its original state; fresh and where possible organic.  This means avoiding processed and packaged foods. This allowed me to embrace food and learn more about the nutritional values and benefits.

I’m not going to lie; the first week was really hard.  My body went into total shock; withdrawing from sugar and other chemicals found in processed foods.  However, after the first 3-4 days I found myself: eating to fuel my body, rather than for hunger, more sustained energy, clearer skin, brighter eyes and improved mood (you know what they say…we are what we eat!)  I had the added bonus of losing 6 Kilos

The detox has allowed me to:

  • Learn about the nutritional values of food
  • Cook more using fresh ingredients and try new and exciting food options
  • Read labels more
  • Care about my overall health, not just my weight
  • Learn that moderation is key

No going back now!!

A big thank you goes to Kris for the support and guidance; a true inspiration 🙂
